Poland Prize Program: Grants for relocating of foreign startups to Poland

Share

Are you the founder of a startup set-up outside of Poland? Or perhaps you are a foreign entrepreneur wondering in which country to establish and grow your startup? If so, the Poland Prize program might be something of interest for you.

There are many reasons to treat Poland as a hub for scaling of your startup. A large domestic market, giving the opportunity to test your product on a larger scale. Abundant technological talents. An increasingly active startup ecosystem, including a growing number of business angels and VC’s.

There are also incentives in the form of publicly available grants. One of the programmes foreign startups or founders may benefit from is Poland Prize offered as a part of Startup Booster Poland.

The aim of Poland Prize program is to encourage foreign startups to relocate and develop their activities in Poland. The Poland Prize offer includes acceleration programme, within which the startup will receive a grant amounting up to PLN 400.000.

The acceleration process will also include softlanding (e.g., support in establishing a company in Poland), access to training and workshops aimed at supporting the implementation of the startup’s product in the Polish market, as well as the access to corporate partners of individual accelerators.

Particular accelerators operating within Booster Poland programme offer the Poland Prize route for startups at various stages of development, ranging from the idea, up to the requirement to have a full product readiness (TRL 9). Nevertheless, an unchanged condition is that the startup has been operating for less than 5 years and has the status of an SME entity.

There are more good news. Choosing Poland as the market in which to develop your business will allow you benefit of other Startup Booster routes (additional grants of up to 400,000 PLN), as well as larger programmes addressed to R&D projects, such as Regional Operational Programs (grants up to 35 million PLN) or the Smart Track (grants up to 50 million PLN). Last but not least, an enticing alternative to the Poland Prize program could be the Startup Platforms (grants up to 2.6 million PLN).
